Bethlehem, PA — According to Lehigh captain Foster Rankin, “Lehigh University finished its most successful season to date, culminating with a second place finish in the Serues Cup championship. The team grew its member base, increased squash education on campus, and strengthened the reputation of the school.” Although the Mountain Hawks lost three players to graduation, they are gaining five players this season, which will increase the team’s depth. The team’s success last season increased the program’s recognition on campus. The team hopes to continue this trend and help launch a women’s program in the near future. “As a club we will hold each other accountable for practice and matches knowing success is derived from hard work,” adds Rankin. The Mountain Hawks hope their hard work will translate into a top 40 finish to the 2013 – 2014 season. Lehigh is hosting a match with rival Lafayette, which will be extra exciting because it will commence the weekend where the two schools will also meet on the football field. The team is expecting a large crowd for the match. Rankin adds that “This is a very exciting year for Lehigh squash and we all look forward to achieving the goals we set both on and off the courts.”
