Kenyon: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Kenyon Gambier, OH — Kenyon dropped off the college squash landscape last season, but they hope to return to the Men’s National Team Championships this year. Two seasons ago, the Lords lost in the consolation finals of the Chaffee Cup (E Division). The Lords graduated seven players in 2013, so rebuilding is a priority. Currently, Kenyon has more international courts, eight, then players, but with this type of facility the sky in the limit. “We need players willing to help build a new team,” says coach John Knepper. Part of that rebuilding effort will focus on the Ohio squash rivalry. A mere 28 miles from Kenyon is Denison. The squash rivalry between these two Ohio schools is intense.  Last season the Lords opened strong with a 5-4 victory over the Big Red; however, by January, Denison had improved and defeated Kenyon 9-0.
