Washington: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Washington, University ofSeattle, WA — This season, student leadership is taking a larger role in coaching and administering the University of Washington squash team. With five players from the 2013 Men’s National Team Championships returning, the student leaders will have their hands full looking to rebuild, but they are excited by the prospect. They are encouraging students to tryout for the team and they already have one new player who is expected to play in the middle of their ladder. The Huskies would like to improve upon last season’s ranking of 40th. The team had a challenging National Team Championships, where they finished 8th in the Chaffee Cup. However, the Chaffee Cup was an incredibly close division last season. The Huskies narrowly lost to Boston University in the first round and the Terriers went on to the Chaffee Cup finals. The team knows that the Navy Round Robin in November will be key to their season. At this event they will face many teams ranked in their area of the rankings and hope to further their reputation as a competitive team from the West Cost.
