Bucknell: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bucknell University Lewisburg, PA — Last year, the Bucknell Bison moved up a division, finishing third in the Conroy Cup (D Division) after making it to the Chaffee Cup finals the year before. Captain Chris Santoro reports that the team is taking action to ensure that that improvement continues. “Coach Paul Assaiante is coming up to train us for a weekend in October, and we are all coming back a week early in the winter to train,” Santoro explains. That training should help the squad when they take on another program with upward momentum, Drexel, and the team that finished just behind the Bison last season, Georgetown. “We need to keep showing that we are a team to be afraid of and these two matches will show that we are a great team,” says Santoro. The Bison will also have the opportunity to use the four international courts the school recently installed when they host two round robins, the Bucknell Invitational and an event for teams affiliated with the Patriot League. Santoro is enthusiastic about Bucknell University and its squash program. “Bucknell University is an amazing school with a great squash program,” he says. “We are growing every year and we only get better. We have a brand new squash facility and amazing student body support for each match. It is a great place to be and a great team to be a part of.”
