London, Ontario — The University of Western Ontario did not compete in the 2012 Men’s National Team Championships. This season, they are motivated to return to the A Division. Although last season’s number 1 has graduated, the rest of the starting line-up is back. The returners will be joined by a deep group of newcomers, as well as Yeshale Chetty, who is returning after injury. First-year players Joshua Sekhar and Varun Prakash are expected to play in the top nine, and Matt Sharpe, Krishan Rana, Charlie Gunn, and Chris Hillen will be jostling for position on an increasingly competitive squad. “It has been a good year for recruiting, and competition for the top 10 places is very strong,” reports coach David Morrish. Cornell and Rochester are key matches on the Mustangs’ schedule. “A win over one of these two teams should put us back in the top 8,” Morrish explains.
