Middlebury: 2012 – 2013 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Middlebury, VT — Middlebury is a program on the rise, and other teams have taken notice. The Panthers’ peers recognized their improvement last season by naming them 2012’s Most Improved Team. With construction on a new 10-court facility slated to begin this fall, the future looks bright for the team. Four new players will be added to this year’s squad: Saskia Pownall-Gray (St. George’s School); Tiffany Hau (Baldwin School);  Zoe Carey (Noble & Greenough);  Seah Wanning (Raffles Academy). The team has already gone on an overnight hiking trip in the Adirondacks, and they are eagerly anticipating the start of the season. “We look forward to seeing our friends on the opposing teams, and we look forward to all our matches,” says head coach John Illig. The team plays a rigorous schedule, and Williams, Bates, Columbia, Brown, and F&M will be key matches along the way. “We’ll fight to do the best we can at all times, and we’ll have fun doing it,” says Illig.
