2012 – 2013 Intercollegiate Doubles Championship Results

Philadelphia, PA —  The 2012 – 2013 Intercollegiate Doubles Championships were held this weekend at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia and the Germantown Cricket Club.

This season, 11 schools sent players to the event: Bates, Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, Naval Academy, Penn, Princeton, Rochester, St. Lawrence, Trinity, Wesleyan, and Yale.

The women’s draw featured three teams. To say the matches were close is an understatement. Each team finished the tournament with a 1-1 record, and the championship was decided by points in the round robin pool. Trinity’s Ashley Tidman and Natalie Babjukova captured the title.

In the Men’s draw, Princeton’s Todd Harrity and Taylor Tutrone met Navy’s Hunter Beck and Andrew McGuinness in the finals. McGuinness kept his family’s streak alive. His brother Trevor was in the finals the past four years, earning the title three times. The Princeton duo won the match in four games to earn the championship. They were presented with the Butcher/Ball/Ketcham Cup. Harrity completed a trifecta for his collegiate career with an individual championship (2011), a team championship (2012), and now a doubles championship.

In the mixed doubles draw, Penn’s Daniel Judd and Colleen Fehm met Princeton’s Dylan Ward and Rachel Leizman in the finals. Penn won in four games. With a new partner, Fehm won her second consecutive mixed doubles championship.
