Wesleyan: 2012 – 2013 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Middletown, CT — At the 2012 NESCAC championships, Wesleyan revenged two close losses from earlier in the season to finish sixth in the tournament. A 4-5 loss to Hamilton became a 6-3 win for the Cardinals; a 4-5 loss to Bowdoin turned into a 5-4 win. Wes seemed to be on the rise and entered the Men’s National Team Championships seeded third in the C Division.  However, back-to-back losses on the first two days of the tournament bumped the Cardinals down into the bottom of the consolation bracket, where they closed out the season with a 7-2 over Stanford. This season, the Cardinals have the opportunity to recapture the promise they showed early last February. The entire top 10 from last season will be back, and four new players (Guy Davidson, Raheem Logan, Jason Brandner, and Johnny Bebbington) will join the roster. “The team continually evolves and develops and with a maturing squad this is an exciting time for the Wesleyan men’s team,” head coach Shona Kerr says. “Fulfilling individual potential, helping others achieve their potential, and exuding excellence are at the core of what we do and represent.”
