Chestnut Hill, MA — After finishing as the #1 club team in the nation, BC is looking to compete with more established varsity programs. “We’re gearing up to move our program into a more competitive standing on the college squash circuit,” explains team member Maddy Bette. The team is looking into hiring a coach and planning to travel beyond the Boston area for more competitive exposure. However, local rival Wellesley will still figure prominently on the Eagles’ schedule. Last season, the two teams played three times, with the Blue coming out on top of each contest. The Eagles want to reverse those results this year. “We’re a younger team, with only one current member graduating in the coming school year and the majority of members being sophomores,” says Bette. “We hope to use this to our advantage by creating an even stronger team bond and spurring leadership in our younger team members.”
