Amherst, MA — The Women’s College Squash Association Individual Championships concluded on Sunday with the Ramsay Cup finals.
In front of a packed gallery, the top two players in the nation, Harvard’s Amanda Sobhy and Yale’s Millie Tomlinson, faced off. This was the second meeting between the two players in an eight day period. In the Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championships (Howe Cup) finals, Sobhy defeated Tomlinson in three games (11-1, 11-3, and 11-1).
In the rematch, Tomlinson was on a mission. After all, last season as a first-year student, Tomlinson won the Individual Championships (Ramsay Cup) by defeating reigning Individual Champion Laura Gemmell (Harvard). Tomlinson played well, but Sobhy matched and exceeded Tomlinson’s best.
