Men’s College Squash – Cornell and Trinity #2s (Video)

Hartford, CT — On Friday, the eagerly anticipated college squash match up between Cornell and Trinity took place. Many college squash insiders believed that Cornell, the 6th-ranked team in the nation, had the opportunity to end Trinity’s 250-match win streak.

The first round of matches gave Cornell a 2-1 advantage.  However, Trinity willed themselves to six more match victories to capture the contest 7-2.  The match score does not reflect the closeness of virtually every individual match. For example, the match at the #2 position was a nail-biter. Cornell’s Alex Domenick faced Trinity’s Antonio Diaz Glez in the match at the number two position. Domenick jumped out to a 11-8 victory in the first game. The second game, featured below, was a back and forth battle of attrition. Diaz won the second in tiebreakers. The two players exchanged games in the third and fourth.  Game 5 was another back and forth contest. Diaz won 13-11 to capture the match (8-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-2, and 13-11).
