Geneva, NY — Even though there weren’t enough teams for a full Liberty League championship in women’s squash, “conference” matches against Vassar and St. Lawrence remain key matches on the Herons’ schedule.
The 2011-2012 squad will have one new player who should be competing in the top 3: first-year Andrea Tran. Tran should help compensate for the loss of Alexa Comstock, who played number 2 last year. The Herons also lost Else Ross at number 8 and Madeline Friedman at number 10.
William Smith just hired a full-time strength and conditioning coach this year, who will be working with the players all year.
“Squash has become a ‘serious’ sport on campus, and our players love this new-found respect,” reports head coach Chip Fishback.
