Penn Sweeps Intercollegiate Squash Doubles Titles

Philadelphia, PA — The University of Pennsylvania Quakers made the most of their home-town advantage and swept all three divisions of the Intercollegiate Doubles Championships, which were hosted by the Racquet Club of Philadelphia.

In the second-ever women’s doubles championship, Penn co-captains Nabilla Ariffin and Pia Trikha defeated the team of Ashley Brooks and Nessrine Ariffin from Bates, 15-13, 15-7, 15-12.

In the men’s championship, Trevor McGuinness and Thomas Mattsson, another pair of Penn co-captains, defeated Matt Domenick and Adam Perkiomaki of Rochester, 15-5, 15-12, 15-7. McGuinness and Mattsson won the doubles title in 2009, and McGuinness partnered with Porter Drake to win the 2010 title.

McGuinness teamed up with Colleen Fehm to defeat Pamela Hathway and Reinhold Hergeth of Trinity to win the first intercollegiate mixed doubles title, 0-15, 15-0, 15-11, 15-14.
