Haverford: 2011 – 2012 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Haverford, PA — One of the biggest changes for Haverford this season will be not having a major coaching change. The Fords have had a different coach for each of the past three seasons, so the return of Niki Clement will help the team to build on what they learned last season.

Although the Fords have lost four players from last season’s top nine, they will gain a new first-year player, Alex Love of San Francisco. Two experienced players will also be returning from study abroad. Kira Jones played in the top third of the ladder during the fall 2010 semester, and co-captain Roxy Jaffe is expected to climb up the ladder.

The semester has already gotten off to a good start for the Fords. “The upperclassmen are very eager to pick up where they’ve left off in their squash games and the underclassmen have already began to pick up and adopt this same enthusiasm,” reports Clement. “We will be looking at each match as an opportunity to capitalize on the skills that we are building.  We are looking forward to the Pioneer Invitational as it will be a tremendous opportunity to play teams we’ve never competed against before.”
