2011 Men’s College Squash Video: Potter Cup – Princeton and Yale #3s

Cambridge, MA — At the 2011 Men’s College Squash National Team Championships, Yale and Princeton played in the semifinals of the Potter Cup (“A” Division).

In the regular season, Princeton travelled to New Haven for the annual match.  The Tigers, ranked #3 in the nation, were hoping to upset the 2nd ranked Bulldogs.  With the match tied 4-4, Yale’s Naishadh Lalwani won to earn Yale the team victory.

The rematch at the Men’s National Team Championships featured a slightly different line-up. This time around at the #3 position, Princeton junior Chris Callis faced Yale’s Kenneth Chan.

Like the match at the #2 position, the match at the #3 position went to five games. Callis won the first and third games, while Chan captured the second and fourth.  The final game of the match was a nail biter.  The two players traded points until the very end. Chan escaped with a 11-9 victory in the final game to capture the match (7-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-5, and 11-9).

Yale came just short of upsetting Trinity in the Potter Cup finals. Princeton ended the season ranked 3rd in the nation after beating Rochester.

Below is the 5th game between Callis and Chan.
