2011 Men’s College Squash Video: Molloy Cup – Columbia and George Washington

Hanover, NH — At the 2011 Men’s College Squash Individual Championships, the Molloy Cup (“B” Division) round of 32 featured Columbia’s Graham Miao and George Washington’s Omar Sobhy.

Miao helped lead Columbia to final ranking of 21st in the nation in its first season as a varsity squad. Columbia earned the 2011 Barnaby Award, which is given to the most improved team. During 2011, Miao recorded 15 individual victories. In the Molloy Cup, he defeated Allen Lutz (Naval Academy) to face Sobhy.

Sobhy, who played number 2 at George Washington, also led his team in victories in 2011. The sophomore earned 21 victories and was named George Washington’s Most Valuable Player.

Sobhy defeated Miao in four games (11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5).  He went on to capture the 2011 Molloy Cup with victories over Johan Detter (Trinity), Robert Berner (Yale), Nigel Koh (Harvard), and Matt Domenick (Rochester).
