The ranking committee certainly had its work cut out for it with this round of rankings. There were numerous appeals, comparisons, and telephone calls between committee members that produced this round of rankings.
Franklin & Marshall took over the eighth position from Western Ontario. Unfortunately, F&M and Western did not face each other this season. Based on schedules, like opponents, and wins against CSA squads, F&M currently moves into the final slot in the Potter Cup division of the Men’s National Team Championships.
The Middlebury men have achieved their highest ranking in program history. The Panthers move to 13th after beating Bates and George Washington. At the 18th position, Amherst slides ahead of Bowdoin by defeating the Polar Bears 6-3.
The 22rd through 26th positions are neck-and-neck. Colby’s recent victories over Hamilton, Stanford, and Hobart earned the Mules 22nd. Close behind are Stanford (#23), Hamilton (#24), Tufts (#25), and Hobart (#26).
The University of Oregon makes their debut in the national rankings at #63.
Coaches and Team Contacts, please remember to enter your team’s results in the US Squash Scoring System on the day of each match. For the second consecutive ranking period, the following teams are not ranked due to not entering scores in the US Squash Scoring System: Lafayette and North Carolina. Presuming their results are posted, these teams will be eligible to reenter the rankings at the next ranking release. Illinois Champaign reenters the rankings this week after resolving its outstanding match scores.
In addition, as stated in the Men’s College Squash Association Bylaws, each men’s team must complete six matches to compete in the Men’s National Team Championships. (This applies to teams intending to compete in the nine-player divisions at nationals and not to teams intending to compete in the five-player Emerging Teams division.)
