2010-2011 Dunlop Women’s College Squash Team Rankings (1/24/2011)

[rankingimage] Northampton, MA – Today, the women’s College Squash Association released the seventh [wtr] of the season.

The teams ranked 11th – 13th, Middlebury, Amherst, and Bates, are in a dead heat.  The three teams have traded matches over a seven-day stretch.  The triangle method for breaking the ranking quandary had to be employed. Between the three teams, Middlebury won 10 matches (6 against Amherst and 4 against Bates), Amherst won 9 matches (6 against Bates and 3 against Middlebury), and Bates won 8 matches (5 against Middlebury and 3 against Amherst).  The three teams will most likely rematch in the NESCAC Tournament on February 4th – 6th.

For positions 23 through 26, another tight group of teams is forming.  William Smith’s 8-1 victory over Conn College moves the Herons to 23rd. The triangle method was used again to break the tie between Tufts, Conn, and St. Lawrence. Tufts and Conn each had 10 match victories in the triangle, while St. Lawrence had 7.  Tufts beat Conn in their head-to-head matchup, which moved the Jumbos to 24th, Conn to 25th, and kept St. Lawrence at 26th.
