Drexel player Amey Khanolkar reports on his team’s match with Middlebury.
Philadelphia, PA — The Drexel men’s squash team hosted Middlebury College for a match on Sunday, January 30th, at the Lenfest Center in Philadelphia. Our team, currently ranked 37th by the College Squash Association, looked to put up a strong fight against the 17th-ranked Middlebury Panthers.
The Drexel squash team has played some of the best teams in the country this season. We faced top teams like Navy and Cornell in October, and we just returned from a trip to California, after playing Stanford, Wesleyan, and Connecticut College on the West Coast. On Sunday, we went down 0-9 to Middlebury, but after demonstrating some quality squash strokes. Both teams showed exemplary sportsmanship during the match.
The Drexel men’s team will host Lehigh University at its recently constructed squash arena. This is will be a crucial match as we build momentum to take on collegiate squash teams in the Chaffee Division at the CSA Nationals at Yale.
