Vanderbilt: 2009-2010 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

vanderbiltNashville, TN — Vanderbilt’s women are new on the college squash scene; however, do not over look them.  After all, they have six committed players who are ready to compete.  Maggie Bouscaren played on the  men’s team last season in Annapolis and Boston.  She even played an exhibition match against Tuft’s Valerie Koo. Kristin Brozyna and Gabi Angiolillo followed Bouscaren’s example and played matches for the men’s team in Atlanta last season.

This season, the Commodores are ready to compete in their first National Team Championships (Howe Cup).  The team will travel with the men to three round robins this season.  Their planned opponents include Georgetown, Haverford, George Washington, Columbia, Vassar, and Bates.

The Commodores are excited that the floors to their home courts have finally been properly refinished.  Previously, the floors were waxed.  The proper playing surface will only help this up and coming team during its first full year.
