Northwestern University: 2009 – 2010 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

northwesternEvanston, IL — The Northwestern Wildcats are part of the up and coming Midwest squash scene.  Founded in the 1990s, the team has quietly moved up the rankings.

Last year, the coed club finished the season as the 26th-ranked men’s squash team. Over the past five seasons, Northwestern has consistently finished the season ranked between 25th and 30th in the nation.

This season, the Wildcats will be captained by Akhil Daswani. The team returns six of their top nine players.  Northwestern is motivated to move up in the rankings and compete in the Summers Cup (C Division) of the men’s National Team Championships.

2008-2009 Season Recap

FINAL RANKING: 26th
NATIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS: 27th; 3rd in Conroy Cup (D Division)

Returning Players from Team Championships: Jay Dalal ’12 (1); Akhil Daswani ’10 (2); Andrew Park ’10 (4); Eugene Kim ’10 (5); William Benedict ’12 (6); Dan Wolf ’11 (8); Andrew Liu ’10 (10)
