Headlined by tour director Suzie Pierrepont, the weekend featured relentless, high-octane matches, many of which included CSA alumni battling on court in full school swag and proudly representing their alma mater. Each match felt like a mini reunion, blending elite competition with the unmistakable energy of college squash camaraderie. The amateur component brought its own intensity as CSA parents and University Club alumni rose to the occasion.
By Sunday morning, January 11, packed seats once again framed the courts as the men’s and women’s finals took center stage. On the men’s side, Princeton’s Chris Callis and Columbia’s Sam Khalifa shared the winner’s glory. The women’s final delivered a powerful moment as Harvard’s Kaley Leonard and Princeton’s Maria Elena Ubina claimed the championship.
Beyond the glass, the weekend doubled as a gathering of squash royalty. Courtside conversations flowed with James Zug and John Nimick, while live match commentary by Andrew Slater elevated the experience throughout the weekend. A large contingent of Trinity squash alumni paused between matches to capture a memorable group photo, and longtime leader and advocate Tom Poor was honored with the US Squash President’s Cup – the organization’s highest annual service award and widely regarded as its most prestigious honor, a fitting tribute during a weekend defined by leadership and legacy.
With standing-room-only crowds, nonstop action, and a palpable sense of reunion, the event underscored everything that makes squash special. Thank you to the University Club of Boston, the SDA Pro Tour, and all of their sponsors for delivering such an impressive and inspiring weekend in the heart of Boston.
The College Squash Association looks forward to seeing even more alumni hit the big stage in less than two weeks as we prepare for CSA Individuals during the Tournament of Champions in New York City. We hope to see many of you there. If you still need tickets for matches at Grand Central Station, please be sure to secure them soon.
