Varsity

  • No. 1 Trinity beat No. 2 Harvard in the CSA Women’s Match of the Week on Sunday afternoon in Boston. The energy was buzzing at The Murr Center as the women geared up for a match of the season between the best women’s teams in the CSA. Trinity came out strong to take the first round of games across the board, but Harvard quickly kicked into gear. In a tough battle, both No. 6 and No. 9 pulled out 3-2 matches to earn the 4th and 5th games to secure the win for Trinity. This comes as a huge upset to Harvard as they drop to 4-1 with their first loss since 2015, ending the winning streak at 102 matches in a row. Top-ranked Trinity remains unstoppable and improves to 10-0.
  • No. 6 Trinity defeated No. 7 Drexel in the CSA Men’s Match of the Week yesterday evening in Philadelphia. With several close 5 game matches, the competition was tight, but the Dragons struggled to keep up with Trinity’s strength without their No. 1 and No. 3 players. The No. 5 position fought it out in a final 3-2 match to end the evening. The Bantams swept the bottom third taking wins at the 4,5,6,7,8, and 9 positions and ultimately taking home an 8-1 victory.
  • No. 17 MIT had a long week of matches with both wins and losses. On Friday, MIT traveled to take on No. 19 Amherst where they lost in a tough 5-4 match. After a few days off, MIT got back on the road to face another tight match against No. 14 Bates. This time, MIT pulled off an upset with a 5-4 win. MIT continued the momentum the following day with another win against No. 22 Bowdoin.
  • No. 29 Dickinson women upset No. 25 St. Lawrence in an exciting match. In a very evenly matched competition, many games went to five. However, Dickinson came through on their home turf to secure the 5-4 win.
  • No. 18 Williams traveled 6 hours to compete against No. 14 Bates in an impressive match. Williams came in strong and swept the middle of the ladder taking wins at 4,5,6,7, and 8. With determination, the Ephs upset Bates 7-2.
  • No. 19 Georgetown women take down No. 18 F&M and continue their climb in the rankings.
  • No. 26 Hamilton takes down No. 22 Bowdoin in a tight 5-4 match. Hamilton’s strength at the bottom of the ladder outmatched their competition.

Club Teams

  • The Brown men went undefeated at Wesleyan securing wins against No. 30 Denison, Stanford, and No. 29 Haverford.
  • The Brown women had a tough match against No. 28 Denison. Denison secured the victory with only eight players and wins at 5,6,7,8. The No. 1 women closed off the match with a tough 3-2 game giving Denison a clutch 5-4 win.
