College Squash Weekend Preview – Dec. 7-9

While many teams have completed their competition schedule for the 2018 calendar year with the end of the semester looming, there are still a few enticing matches on the docket for this weekend.

Trinity College’s courts will be the center of much of the action over the next three days with Brown University, Drexel University, George Washington University, and Middlebury College all traveling to Hartford for at least one match.

Based on the schedule and their opponent’s rankings, George Washington’s teams likely have the toughest stretch of matches, with three in three days.  The No. 14 GW men will look to defend their position against No. 15 Brown on Friday evening before facing No. 1 Trinity and a challenging No. 20 Middlebury team. The No. 14 GW women will also be defending their ranking in their match against No. 15 Middlebury. That match on Sunday will be preceded by contests with No. 11 Brown and No. 2 Trinity.

Haverford College and the Fordham University men’s team will also host multiple matches over the weekend. Haverford welcomes Bard College and Chatham University to southeastern Pennsylvania for a tri-match. Fordham plays host to club teams Colgate University, Duke University, and New York University.

The final matches of the weekend take place in the Northeast.  Wesleyan hosts Connecticut College and Middlebury on back-to-back days.  The Bowdoin men and women will battle it out with Tufts in Maine.  And, on the women’s club schedule, Wellesley College travels into the city to take on Boston University in a local rivalry match.
