Middlebury College’s Women’s Squash team has established itself as a perennial top-16 team in the annual CSA Team Rankings, finishing 15th or 16th in four out of the last five years. Now Head Coach Mark Lewis and his deep squad of returning starters hope to replicate the success of Middlebury teams from the early 2010s when they were finishing in the top half of the Kurtz Cup (B Division) results. This year could be the year to do it with three-time All-NESCAC selection Beatrijs Kuijpers returning for her senior season at the top of the lineup along with eight other teammates with vital playing experience in starting roles. The team’s other All-NESCAC awardee, Lucy Bostwick, is gone to graduation, but Lewis welcomes four incoming recruits who could have an immediate impact. Middlebury faces every team ranked between 11 and 21 in last year’s final list, which sets them up with important matches almost every weekend of the regular season.
