Johns Hopkins: 2016 – 2017 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Johns Hopkins University Baltimore, MD — Johns Hopkins is looking to rebuild this season. The Blue Jays graduated seven players, including five players from the starting line-up from the 2016 Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championships. According to co-captain Carley Petrone, “With 7 graduating seniors, this is a rebuilding year for our team. We hope to focus on technique and improving skills in order to develop match play. With a few returning players at the top of the ladder, they hope to work on advancing match strategy as well as overall rally improvement.” The team is focusing on matches with Haverford and Georgetown as a barometer of their improvement this season. The true focus of this season will be laying the ground work for the future. Adds Petrone, “Since we have many new players with a variety of skill levels, this season will be about learning, bonding and improving match play ability.”
