St. Lawrence: 2016 – 2017 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

St. Lawrence University Canton, NY — This season, St. Lawrence will be a young team. In fact, the Saints’ sole returning senior played #11 last season. The team graduated three seniors from the starting line-up from the Men’s College Squash Association National Team Championships, including Amr Khaled Khalifa, the four-time Liberty League Player of the Year and the 2016 Skillman Award winner. According to Sports Information Director Beth Spadaccini, “The men’s team is young this season and will be rebuilding over the next two to three years, so there is an opportunity for younger players to step up. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the St. Lawrence squash program.” With four players joining the young squad, the Saints’ ladder appears extremely deep. St. Lawrence has had tremendous success the past few years, including being the national championship runner up in 2015. This year may be a slight down year, but expect the Saints to be in the Potter Cup mix again this season.
