Brown: 2015 – 2016 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Brown UniversityProvidence, RI — Brown, a staple in the top 12, concluded last season ranked 11th in the nation. According to head coach Stuart le Gassick, who officiated two former players’  wedding during the offseason, “We were so close to the Kurtz Cup behind Stanford and Dartmouth last year and our goal this year is to win the B Division. Lots of hard work and fun – and we feel we will be close!” Matches with Bates, Columbia, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Stanford, and Williams will be key as the Bears move towards their goal. The Bears’ opening weekend of the season features matches with Bates and Stanford. Last season, Brown travelled to the Cayman Islands for a training trip. This season, the Bears are tied to the United States, but they are motivated. Four players are joining Brown’s line-up, which will assist with the three graduating players from last season. The Bears need to improve the win percentage of their top 3 to accomplish their goal of winning the Kurtz Cup.
