Swarthmore: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Swarthmore College

Swarthmore, PA — Swarthmore made the most of last season’s Team Championships, winning the Hawthorn Cup. This was impressive considering that the Phoenix were seeded fourth in the division. Not to rest on their laurels, Swarthmore plans to up their training this season and to win the Serues Cup, the next division up at the 2015 – 2016 Team Championships. With the loss of three seniors to graduation, the Phoenix will need returning players to step up and fill key voids. According to tri-captain Arjun Vishwanath, “We hope to have strong matches against our competitors in the regular season and improve as a group and individually moving forward.” Key to Swarthmore’s season will be matches with Haverford, a traditional school rival, and Lehigh, who Swarthmore has had numerous close matches with over the past few seasons. Adds Vishwanath, “We have a great group of players, and we love playing squash and being together in general. We’re looking to win a lot of games and have fun doing it.”
