Haverford: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Haverford CollegeArdmore, PA — Last year may have been the start of something big for Haverford. All nine of their players from Team Championships are returning with a plethora of experience, including winning four of five 5-4 matches last season. The team is also expecting three first-year players to bolster the line-up. According to head coach Niki Clement, “This season’s line up is deep, the deepest we’ve had in several years, and packed with enthusiastic players who love the game and working towards our common goals together. As coach here I feel very lucky to work with such diligent, intelligent and overall fantastic students every day.” The school itself is excited about the program. In the spring, Haverford elevated the head squash coaching position from part-time to full-time. Clement adds, “There is a huge amount of excitement behind the program now that the head coach position is full-time. Parents, friends, the coaches and the players themselves are eager to develop our program further.” As the team prepares for key matches with Boston College, Fordham, Northeastern, and NYU, the Fords will be looking to capitalize on the experience from last season. Don’t be surprised if Haverford is fighting for a position at the top of the Chaffee Cup this season.
