Bucknell: 2014 – 2015 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bucknell UniversityLewisburg, PA — Last season, Bucknell surprised many by finishing the season as the top club team in the nation. This season, Bucknell is looking to repeat that distinction. According to co-captain Henry Gadsden, “Last year we achieved our goal of becoming the #1 club squash team in the nation. We have every intention of repeating that feat this upcoming season. In addition to retaining our #1 club rank, we have set the goal of surpassing more varsity teams in the overall rankings (Hobart, Conn College, etc.). In doing so, we also hope to win the Conroy Cup.” Filling the gaps left by the three graduates from last season’s Team Championships will be six incoming players. “Another one of our main focuses for this season is fitness. We had too many losses last season in 5-game matches simply because our players were burnt out and tired. Those 5-game matches can make or break a season, and we need to win each and every one of them,” adds Gadsden. In addition to better conditioning, Bucknell will need to defeat Conn College and Hobart to have a chance at their goals.
