Hamilton: 2014 – 2015 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Hamilton CollegeClinton, NY — “This season we could have as many as six or seven different players in the lineup from the end of 2013-14,” explains Hamilton head coach Jamie King. While the Continentals only graduated three starters from last season’s championship roster, they are gaining a full complement of new players. A total of nine newcomers will be vying for spots in the Hamilton starting order. “Our talent has improved from last season with all the new players in the lineup,” King notes. “Our goal will be to compete in a very competitive Kurtz Division.” The last time the Continentals finished in the B Division, they dipped back down into the C Division the following season. Thanks to the added depth this time around, they may be able to make more headway in the B Division — and shake things up with their NESCAC rivals. Leadership from veteran players will also help the Continentals keep moving up.  Senior Hilary Gray will be a key part of that effort. King describes Gray, who was second team All-NESCAC last season, as “a solid performer hoping to at least repeat success from last season.” Gray and her teammates won three of three 5-4 matches last season, and that experience will help anchor this up-and-coming squad.
