Rochester, University ofRochester, NY — Rochester concluded last season with a ranking position of 40th and an 8th place finish in the E Division of the National Team Championships. This season, the team would like to win more matches. To do so, the team will need to win matches throughout the line-up, but especially in the bottom 3. Last season, the top 4 won 33% of their matches, while the middle and bottom 3 won 27% and 23%, respectively. The Yellowjackets will also need to replace their #1 and #9 from Team Championships. Rochester is expecting a number of players to join the squad. Senior co-captain Anna Saltman picked up squash during her first year at Rochester. According to co-captain Emma Moore, “Anna has become a devoted team member and leader. This year she serves as co-president of the University of Rochester Women’s Squash Club as well as leadership roles in a myriad of other campus activities.” Rochester will need to face additional teams in the regular season to improve in the rankings this season.
