Harvard: 2014 – 2015 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Harvard UniversityCambridge, MA — The Crimson were so close last season to earning their third consecutive National Championship. They won the Ivy League. They were undefeated and won the Barhite Award. Yet, in the National Championship finals, Trinity upset Harvard, 5-4, to claim the title. The Crimson are ready for the 2014 – 2015 season. The talented squad did not graduate a single player from last season’s National Team Championships. In addition, two experienced first-year students are expected to join the starting nine. Don’t forget that the team also has senior Amanda Sobhy at the top of their ladder. Undefeated in her collegiate career, Sobhy will be vying for her record-tying forth Ramsay Cup (individual title) this season. The squash courts in the Murr Center have brand new scoreboards and now there are six cameras installed for web streaming home matches. The team is planning a January training trip to the Cayman Islands. This getaway will help prepare the squad for the challenging second semester schedule. Harvard is hosting this season’s National Team Championships, which will only increase the expectations for success for the experienced squad.
