Bates: 2014 – 2015 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Bates CollegeLewiston, ME — For the 2014 – 2015 season, the Bates women will need to fill roster spots vacated by three graduating seniors. With the addition of one recruit and several non-varsity players, the Bobcats should fill the gaps left by the class of 2014. They are returning their top player, Nessrine Ariffin, who recorded wins in 15 of 18  matches. Head coach Pat Cosquer added Greg Born to the coaching staff. The team will also benefit from a new four-wall glass court that is being constructed in their facility this fall. Also this fall, the Bobcats will pause to remember late head coaches Herb Bunker and John Illig. Between semesters, Bates will be visiting San Francisco for a community service and training trip. To make a move in the rankings, Bates will need more production from its middle third of the ladder. Last season, positions 4 through 6 won 53% of the time, while the top third and lower third won 63% and 60%, respectively. With five seniors entering the season, the Bobcats will be motivated.
