Williams: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Williams College Williamstown, MA — Williams wants to return to the finals of the Kurtz Cup. After being upset in the opening round of last season’s Kurtz Cup 4-5 to Bates, the team wants to avenge last season’s outcome. They concluded the 2013 Women’s National Team Championship with decisive victories over Franklin & Marshall and George Washington. The Ephs graduated four of their top 9 players, including their numbers 1 and 2. The team will be looking to rebuild quickly with the addition of four first-year students, all of whom have squash experience. To move up in the rankings, Williams will have to perform well in matches with Bates, Middlebury, Columbia, Brown, and Dartmouth. The Ephs host Bates in early January, a match that may hold extra significance due to last season’s Kurtz Cup. The Ephs were the runner up at last season’s New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships and the team would like to at least repeat this feat this season.
