Colby: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Colby College Waterville, ME — Colby’s season ended with a 4-5 heartbreaker to Stanford in the 2013 Conroy Cup finals. Seeded first in the D Division, Colby had outlasted Tufts 6-3 in the opening round and nearly swept Georgetown in the semis before meeting their match in Stanford in the finals. But the Mules are looking forward, not back, and this time around they have their sights set on moving up a division and contending for the Summers Cup. The team returns all but two players from last season, including their top five. Three new players will also be joining the team. They are Andrew Beacham, Hugh Doherty, and Patrick McCarthy. During the regular season, matches against other New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) teams will be crucial for helping the Mules move up a division. The top four divisions are growing more and more competitive, and Colby won’t be left behind.
