Chicago: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

University of Chicago Chicago, IL — The University of Chicago is one of the newest programs in the CSA. The team participated in several competitions last season. Captain Ameer Allaudeen explains: “Last season, we took part in the Jesters event held at the University Club in Chicago as well as a couple of round robins and friendly matches hosted by Northwestern University. However, due to it being a brand new team as well as funding issues, we were not able to make it to Nationals.” This year, Chicago hopes to compete in the Men’s National Team Championships and finish in the top 50. Eight players from last season will be back, and two new players have already joined the team, so Chicago may be able to jump right into nine-player competition. Northwestern will be a key match for Chicago. “Our cross-city rivals are a much more established team than we are, but we had a few very close matches last season and ended up splitting them,” Allaudeen explains. “We are very excited about the coming season, seeing that we have a full team returning as well as a few experienced freshmen who will be joining us.”
