2013 NESCAC Women’s College Squash All-Conference Team Announced

Hadley, MA — Earlier this spring, the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its 2012-2013 All-Conference Team.

Kanzy El Defrawy, a first-year player at Trinity, was named both the 2013 Player of the Year and the 2013 Rookie of the Year. Playing number 1 for the Bantams, El Defrawy lost only one match during the regular season. With her dynamic, explosive play, she helped lead Trinity to the finals of the 2013 Women’s National Team Championships, where they lost 4-5 to Harvard. Trinity finished the season ranked second in the nation, and along the way the team won the 2013 NESCAC championship. El Defrawy finished the season by charging through the draw at the 2013 Individual Championships, reaching the finals, where she ultimately lost 0-3 to Amanda Sobhy of Harvard. El Defrawy also earned First Team All-NESCAC honors.

Seniors Laura Henry of Williams, Robyn Hodgson of Trinity, Cheri-Ann Parris of Bates, Chandler Lusardi of Amherst, Kate Pistel of Colby, and Alli Rubin of Williams all earned All-Conference honors for their final season of intercollegiate play. Henry, Parris, and Pistel were all named to the First Team, while Hodgson and Lusardi were named to the Second Team. Parris and Pistel earned the distinction of being named to the First Team for four straight years.

Trinity head coach Wendy Bartlett was named the 2013 NESCAC Coach of the Year. The Bantams won their seventh consecutive NESCAC championship this season and came within a match of winning the national title.
