Erin Robson Named Coach at Mount Holyoke College

Mount Holyoke CollegeSouth Hadley, MA — Erin Robson has been named the sixth head coach in the history of Mount Holyoke squash. Last season, she served as the interim head coach for the Lyons and guided the team to an 11-9 record.

According to Lori Hendricks, Mount Holyoke’s Director of Athletics, “We are excited to have Erin join us in a full-time capacity to lead our squash program. She brings great experience and knowledge as a head coach and her commitment to our student-athletes is clear. I am excited for the future of our squash program under her direction.”

Robson is no stranger to the college squash world, especially the squash playing colleges in Western Massachusetts. After playing for Amherst College as an undergraduate, she went on to Vassar College. For the Brewers, she was the sports information director, as well as the men’s and women’s assistant squash coach. From 1992 – 1994, she was the head squash coach at Smith College for two seasons. After an initial campaign of 5-21, she lead the Pioneers to a 17-8 record in her second season. After completing her masters in exercise and sports studies at Smith College in 1994, she headed to Williams College to serve as the women’s head squash and tennis coach until 1997. Prior to being named the interim coach at Mount Holyoke, she served as the assistant coach at Smith College.

“I am thrilled to continue as the full-time head coach of squash at Mount Holyoke College,” said Robson. “I look forward to working once again with the student-athletes on this team who constantly exhibit passion, inspiration and excellence for their sport and their school.”

The Lyons will look to extend their record setting streak of seven consecutive Seven Sisters’ championships and return to a top-twenty position during the upcoming 2013 – 2014 season.
