Men’s College Squash Individual Championships: 2013 Pool Trophy Finals (Video)

Hartford, CT — The Men’s College Squash Association Individual Championships concluded with the Pool Trophy (A Division) finals. The finals featured Amr Khaled Khalifa (St. Lawrence University) and Todd Harrity (Princeton University).

The finals marked the last collegiate match of Harrity’s stellar career. In his four years, he appeared in three individual finals, including capturing the 2010 – 2011 Pool Trophy. He also won the 2011 – 2012 National Team Championship with Princeton and the 2012 – 2013 Doubles Championship.

Khalifa, a freshman, went 15-0 this season. He emerged from the brink of defeat in the semifinals. Ali Farag (Harvard) was up 2-0, but Khalifa battled back to capture the match in five games.

Against Harrity, Khalifa won the first two games by a comfortable margin. The third game was incredibly tight. Harrity had game ball, but Khalifa battled back to win the game and the match (11-4, 11-6, and 12-10). With the victory, Khalifa became St. Lawrence’s first squash champion. He was featured in the March 18th Sports Illustrated Faces In the Crowd.

Last week, CollegeSquashAssociation.com featured the Ramsay Cup (Women’s A Division) final video.
