Lewiston, ME — What’s the opposite of a rebuilding year? Bates will have the chance to find out, as the Bobcats will be returning their entire starting line-up from last season. The team that finished 12th in the nation last year will have at least one new face in the line-up: Vishrutyi Sahni, a graduate of Amity International School in New Delhi, India. Sahni will be joining a culturally diverse program where squash is a lifestyle. The year will kick off with the team’s annual retreat to Acadia National Park and will include a trip to the Tournament of Champions in New York City as well as biweekly yoga, massage, and transcendental meditation sessions. The Bobcats will also continue their volunteer work with local Somali and Sudanese children and will begin to work with Team Impact, a non-profit that brings children with life-threatening illnesses together with college athletic teams. This is also the first year that head coach Pat Cosquer will have all four classes of his recruits in the program.
