New London, CT — Connecticut College made waves at the beginning of last season, notching a series of impressive wins. Unfortunately, the Camels weren’t able to sustain their performance, and the back half of the season was more uneven. Will this year’s squad be able to recapture and hold onto the early successes of last year’s? In the Camels’ favor is that fact that only one player from the top nine has graduated, and the 2012-2013 team will have ten additional players to draw on. Six veteran players are returning to the team after time away, and four new players will be joining as well. Of the newcomers, Randy Coplin is a transfer from UMass Amherst, and Santiago Moran (Avon Old Farms), Nico Premutico (St Ann’s, NY), and Brendan McClintick (Mercersburg) are first-year players. Head coach Chris O’Brien anticipates that the season will be full of close matches. “Our conference play should be very exciting,” he predicts.
