Women’s College Squash 2012 National Team Championships: Walker Cup – Wesleyan and Bowdoin #2s (Video)

Cambridge, MA — At the 2012 Women’s College Squash National Team Championships, Wesleyan and Bowdoin played in the semifinals of the Walker Cup (C Division).

During the regular season, Wesleyan and Bowdoin played twice. The Polar Bears earned 5-4 and 8-1 victories. Going into the Walker Cup match, Bowdoin was favored. They had some injuries, but were the top-seeded team in the division. They cruised by Wellesley 8-1 to face Wesleyan in the semifinals.

Wesleyan defeated Colby 6-3 in the opening round of the Walker Cup. In the semis against Bowdoin, they reversed the last meeting with the Polar Bears and won 8-1.

In the match at the #2 position, Wesleyan’s Annie Maxwell faced Alden Drake from Bowdoin.  Maxwell won in  three close games (11-9, 11-7, and 11-7).
