Amherst, MA — At the 2012 Pioneer Valley College Squash Invitational, Wellesley faced Amherst on the second day of the round robin event.
Wellesley went 1-3 at the Pioneer Valley Invitational. The Blue beat Haverford and lost to Amherst, Colby, and Franklin & Marshall. Amherst, who hosted the event with Mount Holyoke and Smith College, went 4-1 with wins over Tufts, Wellesley, Conn College, and Colby. Its sole lost of the weekend came against Hamilton.
Although Amherst defeated Wellesley 9-0, the match at the #1 position was incredibly close. Amherst’s Katherine Savage defeated Wellesley’s Rosemary O’Connor in four games (13-11, 13-15, 11-5, and 11-8).
