Men’s College Squash 2012 National Team Championships: Potter Cup – Cornell and Yale #5s (Video)

Princeton, NJ — At the 2012 Men’s College Squash National Team Championships, Cornell and Yale played in the opening round of the Potter Cup (A Division).

Yale, who ended Trinity’s winning streak in January, had spent time as the top-ranked team in the nation. After a loss to Princeton, the Bulldogs entered the tournament as the 3rd-seed. Cornell, the 6th-seed, had lost to Yale 4-5 in the regular season.  The rematch in the Potter Cup appeared up for grabs.

Cornell upset the Yale. The Big Red jumped to a 6-0 lead to seal the team match. At the number 5 position, two seniors faced off: Cornell’s William Hartigan and Yale’s captain Ryan Dowd.  The seniors played a close match, but in the end, Hartigan won in four games (11-6, 11-8, 6-11, and 13-11).
