Poughkeepsie, NY — At the 2011 Guy Fawkes College Squash Challenge, Ithaca College played host Vassar. In the 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Association Preseason Rankings, Ithaca is ranked 50th, while Vassar is 42nd.
Vassar went 2-0 on the day with 7-2 victories over both Ithaca and Haverford. The Brewers avenged last season’s loss to Haverford. Haverford, ranked 37th, went 1-1 in the Challenge. They defeated Ithaca 5-4.
Ithaca captain Brad Kolodner sent in video of the #2 match between Ithaca’s Mack Smith and Vassar’s Max Middleton. The match was incredibly close. Smith lost the first two games, but rebounded to take the final three games to capture the match (9-11, 11-13, 11-5, 11-8, and 11-9).
