[rankingimage]Northampton, MA — Today, the 2011 – 2012 Dunlop Men’s College Squash Preseason Team rankings were released.

Trinity continues its streak as the top team in the nation. The Bantams’ quest for their fourteenth national championship and Potter Cup will be a challenge this season. If teams like Yale, Princeton, Rochester, and Harvard have their way, the national title will be up for grabs this season.

Twenty-three schools improved in the rankings from last season: Bard, Boston College, Bucknell, Columbia, Conn College, Drexel, Fordham, George Washington, Haverford, Ithaca, Navy, Notre Dame, Penn, Purdue, Siena, St. Lawrence, Swarthmore, Vanderbilt, Vassar, Washington, Washington in St. Louis, Wesleyan, and Williams.

The following schools dropped spots in the rankings: Amherst, Bates, Boston University, Bowdoin, Brown, Bryant, California, Charleston, Colgate, Denison, Johns Hopkins, Leigh, Northwestern, Stanford, Vermont, and Western Ontario.

Preseason rankings were based heavily on the team questionnaires returned for the 2011 – 2012 Season Previews, which included information on graduating and incoming players, and offseason training opportunities. Select schools have already commenced their seasons.  The results of these early matches were not factored into the preseason rankings. Teams that did not compete in the 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Association National Team Championships were not ranked.
