Princeton, NJ — Princeton ended last season on a high note, defeating Trinity 5-4 to finish third in the nation.
The Tigers have lost two players from last season’s top 9, and have three incoming players expected to compete for spots in the starting line-up. Hallie Dewey comes to Princeton after a successful prep career at Deerfield, where she played number 1 for the New England champions and won the Division 1 New England Individual Championship. Dewey will be competing for a spot in the top 6 along with Nicole Bunyan, a graduate of the Shawnigan Lake School and runner-up at the U19 2011 Canadian Junior Squash Championships. Alexandra Lunt, captain of the Greenwich Academy varsity team that won four consecutive national titles, will be competing for a spot in the top 9. Hadley Chu will also join the team as a walk-on.
The Tigers will have resurfaced courts to practice and play on this season, and the team can look forward to a training trip in fall 2012. Head coach Gail Ramsay reports that the team isn’t sure where they’ll go yet but “are looking for a fun and exciting place to visit and train hard.”
“We work hard on the court and off the court on not just our squash but on our team dynamics, building relationships and friendships for a lifetime,” says Ramsay.
