St. Lawrence: 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Canton, NY — St. Lawrence showed good improvement last season, and that should continue this season.

Ranked 16th in the 2010-2011 preseason rankings, the Saints finished the season ranked 13th. At the 2011 Men’s National Team Championships, St. Lawrence rebounded from a 4-5 loss to Brown in the opening round to take the consolation final with a pair of 5-4 wins over Navy and Middlebury.

The Saints have seven new players joining the team. Ibrahim Khan is expected to play in the top 2, and Chris Fernandez, Anderson Good, Peter Lynn, Duncan Maxwell, Kyle Ogilvy, and Sebastian Riedelsheimer will be competing for spots in the top 9.

“With these players plus [Amay] Merchant, [Vir] Seth, and other returnees lower in the lineup, SLU should have an even stronger team than a year ago and will look for a rise in the rankings,” says Wally Johnson, St. Lawrence’s Director of Athletic Media Relations.
